We are pleased to announce the official launch of a seven-day training program on vertical farming in Bosnia and Herzegovina, implemented within the framework of the international Erasmus+ project “PROVER – Promoting Vertical Farming in the Western Balkans through Strengthening the Linkages between the Business Sector and VET Providers.”

From theory to practice, this training will engage young participants from across the country in a series of interactive lectures, hands-on workshops, and practical sessions designed to explore vertical farming as a sustainable and forward-thinking solution for modern agriculture.

This initiative aims to build the capacities of youth and VET providers, promoting green innovation and sustainable food production systems. Participants will be introduced to the latest practices and technologies in controlled environment agriculture, while also developing skills that are increasingly relevant in today’s evolving labor market.

The PROVER project is being implemented in five Western Balkan countries – Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Croatia, and Greece – and seeks to foster meaningful collaboration between the business sector and vocational education and training (VET) institutions.

 On the first day of the training, participants were introduced to the core principles of vertical farming, with a focus on its environmental benefits, contribution to food security, and potential for local economic development. The energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm of the participants signaled a promising start to what will be an intensive and inspiring week of learning.

This training is coordinated in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the Center for Youth Education (Centar za edukaciju mladih – CEM), a key partner in promoting innovative approaches to youth education and sustainable development.
