Bosnia and Herzegovina: Free Vertical Farming Education Reaches Local Communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the PROVER Project

As part of the ongoing seven-day vertical farming training under the PROVER project, the Center for Youth Education (CEM) is taking a step further to bring green innovation closer to local communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Within the framework of the international Erasmus+ initiative “PROVER – Promoting Vertical Farming in the Western Balkans through Strengthening the Linkages between the Business Sector and VET Providers,” CEM has established partnerships with local authorities to make knowledge more accessible to young agricultural enthusiasts.

In a recent meeting with Mr. Sifet Melić, Coordinator for Local Communities of the Municipality of Travnik, and Ms. Amela Mrakić, Project Coordinator at CEM, discussions focused on ways to provide free educational programs in controlled environment agriculture and vertical farming for youth in rural areas.

CEM remains dedicated to offering high-quality and completely free training programs in vertical farming for young farmers and vocational school students. These programs aim to empower participants with the latest knowledge, tools, and techniques that are transforming modern agriculture into a more sustainable, resilient, and technology-driven sector.

This initiative marks a significant step towards strengthening the connection between vocational education and the business sector, ensuring that the new generation of farmers is well-equipped to meet the challenges of the green economy.

By decentralizing education and bringing it directly to local communities, CEM and its partners aim to unlock new economic opportunities and promote sustainable development throughout the region.

We continue to spread the story of vertical farming and green innovation—community by community!
